RFC Destinations in Solution Manager

The Service Data Control Center needs an RFC (Remote Function Call) destination to know where to get session data requests from and where to send session data to. For this reason, the RFC destination to the SAP Solution Manager system needs to be made known to the Service Data Control Center.

This so-called 'BACK' RFC destination is normally created automatically by transaction SMSY in the SAP Solution Manager system for all its satellite systems. For this'BACK' RFC destination, a user is created in the SAP Solution Manager system, and inserted into the RFC destination entry in the satellite system.

When the Service Data Control Center is activated, an RFC destination to the SAPNet R/3 frontend is also created and made known to the Service Data Control Center. This RFC destination is needed to enable service delivery from the SAP service system.

Note

When you work with transaction SMSY, note that the naming convention used for 'BACK' destination is: SM_CLNT_BACK.
