Use
You would like to copy information about Business Information Warehouse metadata objects into a local export directory and use them independently of the BW system. You can use the following HTML Export functions in the Administrator Workbench:
Export Function | in the ……. Administrator Workbench view… |
Menu path Extras ® HTML Export | · Transport Connection · Documents · Business Content · Translation · Metadata Repository |
Context menu: Export HTML Documentation | · Transport Connection · Business Content · Translation |
Note: Selecting Extras ® HTML-Export always means that the entire HTML documentation is exported. This can usually take up a lot of time. For this reason, we recommend that you export the HTML documentation via the context menu for the required metadata object, using an unrestricted search depth.
Functions
Menu Extras ®HTML Export
Via Extras ® HTML-Export, you can find the following functions:
Function | Description |
Generate HTML Pages | Generate HTML pages for the metadata objects in the A version (active objects). |
Generate HTML Pages (Business Content) | Generate HTML pages for the metadata objects in the D version (Business Content objects). |
Save HTML Pages as Local Files | Export entire HTML documentation for the metadata objects in the A version. |
Save HTML Pages (Business Content) | Save entire HTML documentation for the metadata objects in the D version. |
Delete Saved HTML Pages | Delete HTML pages for metadata objects in the A version generated on the database. |
Delete Saved Pages (Content) | Delete HTML pages for metadata objects in the D version generated on the database. |
Context Menu for Metadata Object
In the Transport Connection, Business Content and Translation Administrator Workbench views, you can call up the Export HTML Documentation function via the context menu for the required metadata objects.
After choosing this function, the How Deep Should the Hyperlinks Be dialog box appears. Here you can choose an unrestricted search depth:
Search Depth | Meaning |
000 | The current HTML page is exported together with its symbols. Pages to which this page is linked are not included. |
001 | The current HTML page is exported together with all pages to which this page is linked. |
002 | The current HTML page is exported as are all pages to which the current page and pages linked on the “first level” are linked. |
The length of time required increases as the search depth increases. We therefore recommend you use the lowest possible search depth.
